Dr. Sharma is an experienced molecular scientist and biotech executive with over 23 years of experience in infectious disease genomics and qPCR/NGS assay development. He has proven record in translational research, validations, and innovation in molecular diagnostics.​

​Dr. Sharma earned his PhD in Biotechnology from ICMR and published >30 peer-reviewed publications and got 3 patents in the field of biotechnology. He developed molecular assays for leprosy, TB, SARS-CoV-2, and AMR pathogens and his research cited by CDC and featured in New York Times, NPR, and WallStreet Journal.​

​Dr. Sharma has founded diagnostics start ups and has been on key scientific leadership positions in several biotechnology companies such as chief innovation officer and director.​

​At GENOTOME, he is instrumental in advising and consulting on various projects related to genomics and molecular diagnostics.​
